
Keeping Bath Heaters Warm, Safe, and Actually Usable
Bathrooms are a nightmare for electronics. Between the steam and the occasional splash, moisture just loves to find a way inside and fry a heating element. That’s why we build our table and wall heaters with an IP55 rating. In plain English? We seal the housing tight enough to keep out dust and water jets. It means you don’t have to worry about a short circuit just because the room is foggy.
The “Blinding Light” Problem
Here is the tricky part: infrared lamps can be incredibly bright. If you’ve ever looked at a shortwave IR lamp, you know it’s almost blinding. That’s a huge problem if you’re using these around babies or anyone with sensitive eyes. We fixed this by messing with the light spectrum. By using special quartz coatings or tweaked filaments, we push the light away from the range that stresses your retinas. You still feel that deep, cozy heat on your skin, but you don’t get that harsh, aggressive glare.
What’s Under the Hood
Inside, we use a precision-wound tungsten filament tucked into a halogen-filled quartz tube. The halogen part is key because it stops the tube walls from getting dark and cloudy over time. The best part? It’s fast. Really fast. You aren’t standing around waiting for a coil to slowly warm up. The heat hits you almost the second you flip the switch.
The Balancing Act
There is a catch, though. High-wattage lamps get hot—really hot. Since the IP55 seal is great at keeping water out, it’s also pretty good at trapping heat in. You can’t just keep cranking up the wattage without thinking about the box it’s sitting in. To stop the outer casing from becoming a burn hazard, we use aluminum heat sinks and high-temp polymers. Just a heads-up: if you put too much power into a tiny unit, the safety cutout will trip constantly. It’s a pain. Your best bet is to match the wattage to the size of your room so the switches stay happy and the heat stays steady.
